Scam tactic in the name of the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI)

A scam tactic is currently being used in which allegedly BfDI employees are supposed to help with recovering money lost on crypto exchanges.
The Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI) clarifies: These requests are fake and do not originate from the BfDI. Under no circumstances do not comply with the requests and do not respond. The perpetrators will use your response as an opportunity to contact you for further fraud attempts.
Background: In several cases, the BfDI has been asked whether she could confirm telephone contacts made on behalf of her authority. In each case, the recovery of losses on crypto exchanges was offered.
