Moderation in the Akademieraum 1
Lina Rusch is the Strategic Communications officer for the German Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. Lina has recently joined the Federal Commissioner after a decade in journalism, most recently leading a team of digital policy reporters at the Berlin daily newspaper "Tagesspiegel". She also has extensive experience as a moderator of panels on digital policy, public sector transformation and artificial intelligence.
She has an academic background in International Relations and International Journalism and worked and studied in the Netherlands, Russia, Ukraine and Germany. She has worked on FOI-topics in the Balkans for a German political foundation in Bulgaria (Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung) and regrets not using the tool of FOI requests more frequently during her time as a journalist.
